The Kitewing version takes advantage of tip wands to make the sail forgiving and compact when stowed. The frame folds up inside the rolled sail to a short package within the carry bag to be slung over your shoulder or strapped to a pack.
SK8 is all about ice sailing with skates. If the wind blows hard enough the sail can be used on hard fast snow with skis.
